ABOUT ME

Hi...
I'm Maliswairy Appalanaidu. I'm known as a Physics teacher at SMJK San Min, Teluk Intan. In other words, I'm living at Diamond Bay so called Teluk Intan. It is a part of Perak,Malaysia. So, welcome to my first blog in my 27 years...WORLD OF PHYSICS. Enjoy yourself and make benefit from it.
There are millions of wonders in PHYSICS. Our job to explore it and share with our kids are not that simple. But patience is the best keyword to define ourself in educating our youngs.
About me... What do I say? I just love life... Remember-say a kindword to someonewho looks up to youin awe, because that little personwill grow up and leave ur side...
Here I would like to share a wonderful story about Why GOD created Teachers on Earth....

THE CREATION OF THE TEACHER

The Good Lord was creating teachers. It was His sixth day of 'overtime' and He knew that this was a tremendous responsibility for teachers would touch the lives of so many impressionable young children. An angel appeared to Him and said, "You are taking a long time to figure this one out."
"Yes," said the Lord, " but have you read the specs on this order?"
TEACHER:
…must stand above all students, yet be on their level... must be able to do 180 things not connected with the subject being taught... must run on coffee and leftovers,... must communicate vital knowledge to all students daily and be right most of the time... must have more time for others than for herself/himself... must have a smile that can endure through pay cuts, problematic children, and worried parents... must go on teaching when parents question every move and others are not supportive... must have 6 pair of hands.
"Six pair of hands, " said the angel, "that's impossible""Well, " said the Lord, " it is not the hands that are the problem. It is the three pairs of eyes that are presenting the most difficulty!"
The angel looked incredulous, " Three pairs of eyes...on a standard model?"
The Lord nodded His head, " One pair can see a student for what he is and not what others have labeled him as. Another pair of eyes is in the back of the teacher's head to see what should not be seen, but what must be known. The eyes in the front are only to look at the child as he/she 'acts out' in order to reflect, " I understand and I still believe in you", without so much as saying a word to the child."
"Lord, " said the angel, " this is a very large project and I think you should work on it tomorrow".
"I can't," said the Lord, " for I have come very close to creating something much like Myself. I have one that comes to work when he/she is sick.....teaches a class of children that do not want to learn....has a special place in his/her heart for children who are not his/her own.....understands the struggles of those who have difficulty....never takes the students for granted..."
The angel looked closely at the model the Lord was creating. "It is too soft-hearted, " said the angel.
"Yes," said the Lord, " but also tough, You can not imagine what this teacher can endure or do, if necessary".
"Can this teacher think?" asked the angel.
"Not only think," said the Lord,. "but reason and compromise."
The angel came closer to have a better look at the model and ran his finger over the teacher's cheek.
"Well, Lord, " said the angel, your job looks fine but there is a leak. I told you that you were putting too much into this model. You can not imagine the stress that will be placed upon the teacher."
The Lord moved in closer and lifted the drop of moisture from the teacher's cheek. It shone and glistened in the light.
"It is not a leak," He said, "It is a tear."
"A tear? What is that?" asked the angel, "What is a tear for?"
The Lord replied with great thought, " It is for the joy and pride of seeing a child accomplish even the smallest task. It is for the loneliness of children who have a hard time to fit in and it is for compassion for the feelings of their parents. It comes from the pain of not being able to reach some children and the disappointment those children feel in themselves. It comes often when a teacher has been with a class for a year and must say good-bye to those students and get ready to welcome a new class."
"My, " said the angel, " The tear thing is a great idea...You are a genius!!"The Lord looked somber, "I didn't put it there."

Poems especially for TEACHERS...

Why God Made Teachers
By Kevin William Huff

When God created teachers,
He gave us special friends
To help us understand
His world And truly comprehend
The beauty and the wonder
Of everything we see,
And become a better person
With each discovery.
When God created teachers,
He gave us special guides
To show us ways in which to grow
So we can all decide
How to live and how to do
What's right instead of wrong,
To lead us so that we can lead
And learn how to be strong.
Why God created teachers,
In His wisdom and His grace,
Was to help us learn to make our world
A better, wiser place.

REFLECTION OF TEACHING

I started my teaching in year 2004 is school at Johor Bahru named SMK Sultan Ismail. As I entered the school first, I have been asked to teach Geography for Form 1 and 2. I got shock without but I managed to overcome it by working hard. As time goes, I realized that we can teach any subject apart of our major if there is hard work in us. We have to wake the spirit in us to educate God’s gift.

After a year, I’m given my major subject that is Physics. I have been asked to teach Form 4 and 5 students. As a moving point, I prepare myself with luggage of knowledge. I did a lot of readings and references to improve my knowledge in Physics. I manage to do my own homework before I enter the class everyday. At that time, internet was my best friend since I spend most of the time with it. I able to get plenty of information regarding Physics.

During in the lab, I will give a clear and adequate instruction to the students so that they could understand easily the concept. I will use a simple language to explain to ensure they understand. My students have told me that two things that they like my teaching; language and life lessons. The first are easy to acquire. The second makes them understand easily since the concept relates to daily life.

In my teaching, respect is my number one rule. I respect the students so it is easier to cooperate with each other. I maintain a safe learning environments in which all students are treated fairly and respectfully. I treat them as our own kids, so we care for them and same goes to them. They will respect our words. They know our motives so they will cooperate with us which will make our life easier.

I believe we are all love children of God. I assume their goal is to learn the knowledge. I want them to gain confidence in their intellectual abilities. I always encourage students to strive for excellences. Beside teaching and learning, I used to advise them in all corners. They accept it with open heart.

To encourage myself, at certain times, I always think about the teachers I have had those days. I will pick whatever is the best from them. One of that is mind-mapping. I love whenever my Biology teachers provide us with blank mind map for us to fill in once the lesson over. So, you need to recall whatever the teacher taught before to complete the mind-map given. The same method im using during my lesson and the students really enjoys it.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

For my knowledge, education will be the major machine on earth to build knowledgeable and skillful human beings. It plays an important role for every single human on this world. They will be taught how to face and solve problems at each stage of growth from childhood until the old age. I believe that as an educator, it will be our responsibility to prepare the students to face their adult lives.

Students are represents as a blank white cloth. Teachers are those who will design the cloth with colorful and attractive patterns. The colors and patterns represents skills and knowledge a student posses. To achieve this, cooperation will be the major part of learning process. It should be build into each single teachers and students.

My ambition to become a teacher is due to educate our nation child by giving moral supports according to our culture. So, in the sense of achieving this, I’m as a teacher also going through a lot of learning process such as expanding reading on psychology, analyzing from my previous experiences, concentrates on growing awareness of the field and etc. This is to improve my knowledge on reality and also about the world around me. While going through this, I came up with my own values that I should have as a teacher. That are cooperation, self-confident, Must be an effective communicator and also smart problem solver, be truthful and finally be patience.

Cooperation is in the sense of relationship between teachers, administration, parents and student. This could build up a very friendly type environment at school. When this happens everyone could enjoy their teaching environment throughout their life without any hesitation. For my opinion, cooperation is the key motivator for a teacher to perform successfully in their classrooms.

Self-confident; As an educator, we should built up self-confidence on ourselves before we deal with our students. We should be knowledgeable and skillful to tackle different various types of students. We could be an approachable being for students. This could improve the relationship between teacher and student.

An effective communicator in the sense of when explaining the lesson. It should be an interesting part of classroom. We should relate the lesson with reality, nature and life so the student will aware of it. The language is playing a major role to become an effective communicator. Students should understand the language that is used in the classroom.

A smart problem-solver is to enable us solve various problems from various parties. The way we solve problem should not hurt either side. It should be handled smoothly.

Be truthful; This would be an essential quality for a teacher. As a teacher we must be sincere and truthful when educating our children. We could serve them whole-hearted without any hesitation. Be fare for all races, be nice to everyone. Everyone is God child. Treat them as our own child.

Patience; Anything could be achieved by patience. In today’s world, intolerance is becoming a way of life, which leads to violence. The path of patience is difficult but pays in the end. This would be the values that I carried along in my teaching profession.
